Gallery of our involvement in the Poverty Villages
Over 650 million children are spending their childhood in poverty, 405 million in severe poverty. Out of the 134 districts across the states of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, only two have poverty rates above 40%.
In central and northwest India more than 60% of people live in poverty, 20.8 million come from the poorest districts of Bihar and 10.6 million from the poorest districts in Uttar Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is the poorest district in the country where 76.5% of people are extremely poor.
Mission for Orphans helps care for children living in a poverty village with 500 people. The children are provided with food, education, clothes and one meal a day.
